Lessons In Methods Of Quality Digital Photography

By Collin Kieltey

It is a basic fact that only by using a good camera, you can click good pictures. If you are planning to buy a camera costing less than $100, surely you cannot get good pictures. The best option is to get a DSLR. As a beginner, you can choose the suitable basic DSLR model instead of a costly one. In this article you will get to know some guidelines which can enable you to get great photos. You can use these guidelines most of the time.

One of the problems that novice photographers face is taking pictures during the night or when lighting is not sufficient. If the available options are not well explored, having a DSLR camera doesn't help much either. The key here is to manipulate the ISO settings in your camera. The ISO setting is responsible for controlling the DSLR camera's shutter speed. When you increase this factor, the shutter snaps faster. Thus the blurring of images is reduced as you increase this setting.

Although one cannot actually pinpoint on the actual ISO settings, it is up to the individual to decide on the perfect ISO setting for a particular situation. Try experimenting in dim light and learning what each ISO does for you personally.

When it is a matter of getting the best shots, nothing can beat the use of a tripod. Here is again where many amateurs falter thinking that a cheap tripod shall suffice. Truth is that the cost of the tripod is directly proportional to the stability it provides the camera. Do understand that a minor shake in the pod can result in a blurred photograph.

An important thing you have to do is to buy a good DSLR lens. Just by seeing the lens, you may not be able to make out any difference. But, once you put it on to your camera and click snaps, you will immediately spot the change in the quality. If you have no option to check the lens, just buy the best quality one. You can buy one lens at the beginning and later can add on more as you get experienced.

When you are trying to take photos purely for artistic reasons then do so in the raw format since it holds more information about a photograph and hence allows you to tinker better with it. You will also need to buy a photo editing software such as photoshop. Do not hesitate, buy it.

Lastly, a beginner will need to click many shots until a good snap is got. Hence, use your memory card to store all the shots that you have clicked. Only an expert will be able to alter the settings perfectly and get a great photo at the first click.
