Canon has caught our attention in February, 2011, with the release of a new gimmicky device: the Canon Rebel T3i. Despite many critics that say the new camera is no better than the previous T2i, there are some great features that deserve total consideration for they are the ones making the T3i a killer DSLR.
A particular characteristic of the Canon T3i, that can only be found at the Canon 60D, but not at the Rebel T2i is the flip-out, vari-angle 3.0-inch Clear View LCD monitor. This feature is astonishing simply because it enables the user to take photos from various angles, even if the subject is out of reach or underexposed. Basically, the photographer is able to choose the composition, which is a great advantage, particularly for professionals. Moreover, the devices that have such a feature are usually more expansive, which makes the Canon T3i even more attractive
A good reason to buy the Rebel T3i is its extremely friendly interface. If you're a beginner in digital shooting, this camera is exactly what you need. The Canon T3i comes together with a Feature Guide that displays descriptions or advice for specific functions. This, along with the user friendly buttons and the Quick Control Screen ensures easy and successful operation for beginners. So, you can take pictures without reading hundreds of pages on technical specifications or taking photography lessons. If you haven't bought a DSLR yet and you don't know much about digital photography, you can have a really great start with the Canon T3i.
For those of you who are passionate users of Photoshop, the Canon T3i is a must-have because it allows you to edit the pictures before taking them. There is this feature called Creative Filters that makes the photos look just the way you want. With the White, Grainy Black, Miniature, Toy Camera and Fish Eye Effects, you can edit your photos from your camera, without using Photoshop. In addition, the Scene Intelligent Auto mode analyzes the scene, faces, colors, contrasts and brightness and enhances specific features of your photos.
These are not the only features that make the camera an amazing deal. I can add the Video Snapshot feature, the compatibility with Eye-Fi SD cards or the ISO rating of 6400, which makes the flash pretty useless. All in all, the new Rebel from Canon is definitely a powerful tool, useful for taking great pictures, even if you're not a professional photographer.
