Spherical panoramas display both interior and exterior places incredibly. I have traveled to a place or two in the world and have always enjoyed taking my camera along to produce spherical panoramas. This type of photography requires a mid to high-level quality camera to capture as much detail as possible.
We flew from Utah to Amsterdam, the Netherlands, back in May of 2011. Places that we saw included the cities of Utrecht, Rotterdam and Amsterdam. Interestingly, each city has different things to offer in terms of architecture and culture and whenever I was given an opportunity I shot a high quality spherical panorama using a better quality camera with a fish-eye lens.
To those unfamiliar with the Netherlands, the country is located on the west side of Europe and borders Germany to the east. Known for its windmills and "dodgy girls," Holland's landscape is stunning and very much worthy of all kinds of photography, including the shooting of a spherical panorama. Those that are into cycling will very much enjoy this territory, as steep elevations are nowhere to be found.
During our say, which lasted about 2 weeks, I visited the Oude Kerk (located in Delft), or Old Church in English, one morning for the purpose of shooting spherical panoramas. This Church is also nicknames Oude Jan or Old John in English and features a tower that is about 75 meters high. Interestingly, the tower also leans about 2 meters from the absolute vertical of the structure.
The city of Delft is located in the province of Zuid Holland or South Holland in English, the Netherlands. Considered an attraction to many tourists around the world, Delft is known for its typical Dutch town center and canals. Delft also is or was home to Dutch painter Vermeer, Delftware or Delft Blue pottery and the Technische Universiteit van Delft, or University of Delft in English.
Travel time from the United States to Western Europe ranges from 8 to 24 hours, dependent on what one's itinerary looks like. Average travel times are about 14-18 hours in terms of air travel and layovers. Make sure to sit the day out till nighttime before going to bed as to beat jet lag effectively.
What always has fascinated me is the uniqueness in culture and such that these countries have to offer. Europe is a wonderful destination to those seeking adventures of all kinds, including the shooting of spherical panoramas and such.
