Getting enough light when capturing a great image is a big problem especially if you don't know how to use your camera flash correctly. When you use you flash, it sometimes gives out a hazy bright, and shiny photo which actually spoils the whole real image. Here are some handy tips, on how you can use your camera flash correctly and get great results with it.
1. Bounce it. One way to produce good looking photo with the use of your flash is by not directly aiming the light at your subject but by bouncing it on a wall or ceiling. With this technique, you get t illuminate your subject without blowing up her face like a mug shot. When you bounce the light on a wall or ceiling, you get to have a wider, diffused light source for your subject.
2. Flag It. Your Camera Flash doesn't come out like one straight beam, but it rather comes out into a wide pattern which would actually spill most of the light. You can control the light by placing a small piece of opaque material or black foam to block the light.
3. Use the Ambient Light. One way to bring some great light into your photo is by adjusting to the ambience of your surroundings. Avoid creating a dark tunnel effect by trying to have the same amount of light on your subject and its surrounding environment. In this way, you get to have a photo with some harmony with its surroundings.
4. Turn it off. Sometimes, turning off your flash might be the best way to capture that image you want. Natural Light sometimes gives more meaning and depth to your subjects. But if you're still onto bringing some bright life, you can still use your camera flash to add some zing to your photos.
