The Canon PowerShot A495 Is A Superb First Camera

By Helene Hannaman

When you have made the decision to get started using a digital camera, and retire your film camera, the features are a bit confounding to figure out. Buying an easy-to-use model as your first digital camera will help to prevent potential difficulties. You can buy a digital camera of any complexity you wish, from easy to use right up to the very complicated models offering video capability.

Using a digital camera might present difficulties if what you are accustomed to is a simple film camera model. The camera screen shows you what your photograph will look like, and you will see if you have to adjust the focus, so it is not as simple as pointing and clicking. A sleek look with soft edges, combined with simplicity of operation, make the Canon Powershot A495 attractive to the beginner. The PowerShot A495 has an extremely appealing combination of advanced features packaged concisely and beautifully. Pictures with resplendent color in 10 megapixel resolution are possible with this camera which has a 3.3x optical zoom as well. Everything comes out crisp and clear with the DIGIC III Image Processor.

The screen image is brilliant and bold with a 2.5 inch LED, which makes for pleasurable image capture and image playback. You even have three different colors you can select from. The Canon A495, which is a rather low-cost camera, can be used for shooting those sudden photos with convenience by carrying it in a bag. The PowerShot A495 is a basic camera and it is created by a well-known camera company. Of course, what you get is limited by what you pay, so you shouldn't expect $1,000 qualities. The PowerShot A495 is a snap to use as soon as you open up the box, particularly if you are not a total beginner. You have to read the user guide if you are unfamiliar with cameras.

The camera will last a long time, even though it is made of plastic. The Canon PowerShot A495 won't suffer from being dropped as easily as the compact cameras, compared with which it is a lot bigger. The photographs it captures are really good, even the close-up shots. The PowerShot A495 comes with software that lets you upload videos, with sound, to YouTube, right away after having filmed them. The Canon PowerShot A495 comes with a really good photo editing software application in ZoomBroser. One of the few negatives is that after taking a photo, it takes several seconds to recharge. As you would expect from a camera which operates on two AA batteries, it takes even longer to recharge when you are using the flash. There is no optical image stabilization, but that is not unusual with this price range of digital camera, and the same with no optical viewfinder.

Although the LED screen is really big, the resolution isn't great, but the pics downloaded on the computer look a great deal better. If you are a novice, the cost of the Canon Powershot A495 makes it a great purchase. The slowness of the recharge after taking a photo is the worst of the downsides.
