Publish Your Digital Pictures Online

By Laural Kay

Digital cameras are everywhere you go these days! Working with electronic pictures instead of the traditional film photos is cost-effective, there is no wasted paper to end up in the garbage and they take up virtually no physical space at all! It seems like just about everyone has a digital camera these days that can snap photographs of just about anything in a matter of seconds.

Whether you're a professional photographer or an amateur photography novice you'll still enjoy the ease of digital photography. And what's better than just taking lots of digital pictures is the easy way you can display them to others. There are many different ways to let others enjoy your photos, from electronic picture frames to printing them out to keeping them on your PDA. Starting your own web log is a great hobby for almost everyone, whether you're a busy mother, college student or even a retired person.

A blog is a website that allows an author to publish instant updates onto World Wide Web about just about any topic imaginable. A photography blog can feature the digital images you took on any specific day or trip. One of the growing ways to display your images to others is with a photo blog. You can add your written thoughts about your photos and you can tell people about why you snapped the images and where you were when you took them.

Most blogging sites are fairly simple to get started with. To start a photo blog you just need to find some no cost blogging sites and pick a blog name. You just type your comments out in a post, upload your digital photographs from your PC and the blogging site pretty much does the rest. When you are satisfied with a post you "publish" it and anyone on the internet can instantly view it!

With a photo blog you can not only allow others to see your photos but you can also allow visitors to write comments on your posts. If you allow comments on your posts then you can also learn what other people like and do not like about your images. Getting commends from views to your web log is part of the fun of putting your images online.

You can post a bunch of photos of a vacation one day and then post photos of some children playing in your front yard the next day. Remember not to worry about always writing a post that's perfect. It is your photo blog and you can put up pictures of whatever you like. Just try to have fun with the ability to spread your electronic images so quickly with your own blog!
